Roxbury Rangers U12: Off to a Great Start
(Youth1)- During last weekend’s Roxbury Soccer Club Kickoff Classic Tournament, the Roxbury Rangers U12 boy’s team kicked off their preseason with a strong start.

The Rangers went 2-1-1 in the competition, and took home a second place victory. Greg Somjen, Rangers Coach and Roxbury Tournament Director, says the team played strong and worked hard.
Many of the boys on the team have been playing together for six or more years—they moved up as a group from recreation leagues to the current Rangers travel team. Although the team lost a few boys this season to football, a few new players signed on and have been welcomed with open arms by the veteran Rangers crew.
Somjen says that in addition to their talent, the boys work well together because they are neighbors and friends both on and off the field. The Rangers have even taken their little sister team, the Roxbury Shockers U10, under their wings. Various boys on the Rangers have younger sisters on the Shockers, which is also coached by Somjen. The two teams have become very close in the past few seasons; they even have picnics and attend tournaments together.
The fall season is almost here, and Somjen is looking forward to watching the talented Rangers compete in their upcoming games.
