Washington All Stars Win Philly Shootout (1997)

Philadelphia, PA (Youth 1)- The Washington All Stars went undefeated in the Philly Shoot Out on their way to a Championship at the 1997 Birth Year. The All Stars defeated a much improved Philadelphia JR Flyers team 5-3 in the Finals after beating the Hershey Bears in the Semi Final. The Washington All Stars were loaded with talent including Cameron Smith, Ture Linden, Alex Limoges, Sam Murray, Jack Lloyd and goalie Garrett Forrest of the Washington Little Caps as wll as Josh Oring, Jason O'Neill, Joey Shavatt, Jon Olrich and Junmo Kim of Team Maryland. Also playing with Washington was Curtis Weyerhaeuser, Shane Sellar and Alex Flocken of the Hershey Bears squad.

 

The Flyers look like a much improved team. Selena Hunter and Jake Cerullo give a strong presence in net and new addition Donovan Ott will add a lot of size and skill.
